Tolkien Reading Day is held on the 25th of March each year. Why March 25th? The 25th of March is the date of the downfall of the Lord of the Rings (Sauron) and the fall of Barad-dûr. It’s as simple as that!
It has been organised by the Tolkien Society since 2003 to encourage fans to celebrate and promote the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien by reading favourite passages.
The theme of Tolkien Reading Day 2019 is Tolkien and The Mysterious. What will you be reading?
Bring your favorite Tolkien quote, passage, book, essay, or picture (he did a lot of his own illustrations!) to the party, and be prepared to party like it's the Shire!
All ages are invited, registration is required by Friday, March 22nd - call 440-576-3761 or email tara.neely@hmpl.info
