President Garfield and First Lady Lucretia Garfield will be joining us at the Henderson Library on Sunday, November 19th at 1 pm in celebration of his birthday.
President Garfield will be portrayed by Benjamin Frayser, former National Park Service volunteer at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, Ohio. Since 2018 Mr. Frayser has performed as President Garfield at schools, for round tables, and civic groups, at Civil War reenactments, and at community festivals..
Mr, Frayser has been personally inspired by the life and legacy of President Garfield and considers him to be one of the greatest examples of the American Dream.
Appearing with Mr. Frayser is Miss Anita Benedetti, as First Lady Lucretia Garfield. Miss Benedetti started her interest in costumed interpretations while working at the Cuyahoga County Public Library - Mayfield Branch, and later at Cleveland's Lake View Cemetery where she continues to be involved as a docent and guide.
