U.S. Census Recruiting Assistant Nancy Hersch will be visiting Ashtabula County libraries in March and April to talk to interested patrons about the opportunity of working for the U.S. Census Bureau. The first phase, the job phase will take place in August 2019, known as in-Field Address Canvassing. Field staff visit specific geographic areas to identify every place people should or could live. The staff will compare what they see on the ground to the existing census address list and verify or correct information as needed. There will be additional phases in spring of 2020 prior to the April 1, 2020 census date and another in May. These are part time, temporary jobs with flexible hours that can be worked around an existing schedule. The pay is $16 an hour and 58 cents a mile.
