Many of the Images in our digital archives come from the Hakala collection. Paul J. Hakala was a local historian and elected County Recorder who created 2 giant scrapbooks full of local historical news articles, photographs, and other items. In addition to these, he donated an extensive collection of 35mm slides to the Henderson Memorial Public Library. Mr. Hakala used these slides to give lectures on local history. The physical slide collection is now housed at the Jefferson Historical Society located next door to the library.
Due to the quantity of images, we have broken the digital archives collection into the following categories:
Henderson Memorial Public Library
Jefferson Historic Homes, Businesses, & Buildings
